Hi Everyone,

Food for thought.

Mass last Friday to celebrate the start of term was something special. Reverent children who sang and prayed beautifully, Year Six students who led the readings, Father Peter’s touching and pertinent homily - it was all great. Mass is a celebration of our faith, and our faith underpins the existence of our school. Together with those everyday moments when we Make Jesus Real, characterised by the way we great, treat and speak to each other, this is community - the community that is Holy Rosary.

Our school was responsible for hosting today’s swimming carnival. That means a lot of planning and preparation by our teacher of Physical Education Rob Flexman, who did an outstanding job. What a great carnival! We saw our children giving of their very best, and congratulate them for representing our school so well.

A big and important week next week. Our teaching and learning programme continues apace. We also have Kindy 2025 Interviews, School Photos, our Confirmation workshops for children and parents on Wednesday evening, Holly's Book Fair on Thursday and Friday, Mothers Day breakfast and Year Six assembly on Friday, Our Lady of the Rosary Church book release on Saturday night together with the 50th anniversary celebration Mass and morning tea on Sunday, which is also Mothers Day - which will no doubt be a lovely one. All special, all life giving, all welcome.

Best wishes to our Year Six students receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation soon. This weekend they make their commitment at mass to receiving and living out the Sacrament.

Have a great weekend

The Scholastic Book Fair is on in the Library next week, week 3. Students came home with a brochure, including an online payment form on the reverse, from library this week. They will visit the Book Fair with their class on Wednesday to complete their wish list, and will have an allocated time on Thursday 11th or Friday 12th to purchase. Students will be able to use cash on the day or parents can purchase the books online at home and send the receipted wish list/brochure in with their child to collect the books. We will have an EFT machine available for parents to use before and after school if required. I am looking for a parent helper to assist on Thursday 11th May before school 8.15-9.am (to help PP/Kindy) and after school 3-3.45pm (to help Year 1) and Friday morning 12th 8.15-9am (to help year 2)– this may be a bit tricky for a year 6 mum between breakfast and assembly. If anyone can help with sales at the Book Fair on Thursday or Friday, please email me by Monday 8th May through the front office. Thank you for your support of the Book Fair and literacy at HR.
