Wilson's Weekly

Math
Monday & Tuesday, we will talk about the parts of a bar graph and list success criteria in creating one. Then, the students will use their team data to create a matching bar graph. Wednesday, we will list success criteria for making a pictograph. Working in groups, the students will then design a pictograph that reflects their data. Thursday, they'll learn how to read, interpret, & create a line plot. Friday, the students will take their Graphing Post-Test.
Reading
This week, the students will learn about 4 varying points of view: 1st person, 2nd person, 3rd person omniscient, & 3rd person limited. We'll discuss what pronouns to look for and how each point of view gives a different perspective or vantage point. We'll also be reading some fiction books, pinpointing the author's viewpoint, stating whether or not we agree with the author, and supporting our opinion with reasons.
ELA MAP Practice
Monday, we will update the settings on our Chromebooks, register our devices for testing, and try out the tools on the online practice test. Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday, the students will be completing various practice problems, so they can become familiar with the format of the ELA MAP Test.
Social Studies
Monday, we'll learn that producers make items while consumers purchase items. Tuesday & Friday, the students will learn about 3 types of taxes that Americans pay and what that tax money is used for.
