#WE Rise

Links to Remote Learning for Week of November 2 - November 6

Big picture

Brrrr.... November's here!

The air is definitely colder, and it feels like fall is finally here! Please make sure to write your child's name in his or her jacket so that we can easily return it if lost.

Tuesday, November 3 is a remote learning day for all students due to elections. All students will learn from home. Since we are not able to do a proper Veteran’s Day program this year, our teachers have prepared Veteran’s Day activities for your child to do at home. We will send home some materials for that on Monday, and you can find directions and videos on ClassDojo, SeeSaw, and Google Classroom Tuesday morning.

On Thursday and Friday, our fourth and fifth grade students will begin taking their NC check in assessments. These assessments help teachers know how kids are learning and what they need to do. Please make sure your child is well-rested and arrives on time if possible.

Thanks to everyone for helping make our morning carline go much faster and safer. It works great when kids have their masks and bookbags already on. We appreciate your efforts to keep everyone safe and keep our line moving.

Wherever you are learning today, RISE and SHINE and have a great day! #WErise

About Attendance

Parents, please note that since we have moved to Plan A, students who are participating in Plan A will be marked PRESENT or ABSENT. If your child is not in school, you will need to send in absence notes as usual and it will be coded as excused or unexcused. If your child is officially quarantined, those absences would be excused. If your child needs to be out, we will work with you to make sure your child doesn't get behind.

For students who continue with remote learning note that in order for us to count your child in attendance off site, we must on a daily basis verify that the student is engaged (completing and submitting assignments), on pace (participating in the virtual classroom), or receiving academic/emotional support (directly from the teacher). If this isn't happening, your child will be counted absent. Please make sure that your child is submitting work and that you are communicating with the teacher daily. Thanks in advance for your help!
