Roosevelt Information

Twas the night before school...how awesome is that?! It's been a long time coming!

A few reminders so you can stay in the know:

~ Important Dates & Information: School starts TOMORROW, September 10. School hours are 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Students may NOT arrive on the Roosevelt playground before 7:35 AM. The first student bells rings at 7:50 AM, and the tardy bell rings at 8:00 AM. Students will be dismissed from the Roosevelt playground at 2:30 (dismissal procedures may begin a few minutes prior to that).

~ Drop-off/Pick-up: Please see the map below to help you with pick-up and drop-off. This is always a challenging time of the day, so your patience, your adherence to the rules (like dropping off curbside ONLY, no double parking, and use of the crosswalks), and your patience (yes, I'm saying that twice) are needed! If you plan to be onsite tomorrow morning for 1st day photos, etc., please consider parking a block or two away from the school so that you don't clog up the drop-off areas.

~ Breakfast: If students plan to eat breakfast at school this year, they will be eating in the classrooms. Teachers will take the breakfast count the day before for the next day, and students will eat straightaway when they come inside. Please work to have your child to school before or by 7:50 AM so this process can begin right away.

~ Wanna order some cool Roosevelt gear? Below are the instructions if you would like to order some super cool Roosevelt swag/gear. The store will remain open through SEPTEMBER 19 with orders completed approximately 2-3 weeks after that date. UTE will deliver all orders to school, and the orders will be individually packaged and boxed by homeroom teacher. You can view the site directly HERE.

~ PTO Meeting: The FIRST PTO meeting of the 2021-22 school year will be held on Monday, September 13 at 5:30 in the Roosevelt Media Center. Child care will be provided in the Roosevelt gym (everyone, including the children, must wear masks). Please enter Door #1, and the media center is located up the steps at the end of the hallway. The Roosevelt PTO hopes to see many new faces this year, so please come to the first meeting of the year.

~ Masks: Just a friendly reminder that masks are required for anyone who enters our building. Should this be a concern, please email or call me.

~ Equity Summit: Everyone in our community is invited and encouraged to attend the Equity Summit on Thursday, September 16 at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center (see below for specifics). Advanced registration is required. Here is the direct link to sign up for this event. Children are invited to attend; we just ask that each individual attending gets registered so that the event planners can be prepared (especially with the food count, as they are serving delicious food!!!!). Thank you for standing together to show your commitment to our mission and vision!

~ Substitute Teaching: Have you ever thought about being a substitute teacher? Our sub pool is quite limited this year, and we are on the hunt for interested individuals to consider this opportunity. A 4-year Bachelor's Degree is required, and you would need to obtain a substitute license, but we can help with that process. AND...if you only wanted to sub here at Roosevelt, and nowhere else, we could help to support this. If you have any inkling that you might want to do this, please reach out to me!!!

~ School Pictures: These are currently scheduled for during the school day on Friday, October 8.

Get a good night's rest; see you in the morning!
