"Getting Smart" by Tom Vander Ark

Chapter 1 Summary by Hope Conner

The way that students learn and the world that we live in has shown a dramatic shift over the last decade. We as public educators must embrace the changes in order to prepare our learners for their digital future.  Students will be learning and working in a world where the economy is based on having good ideas, and learning is going to be a matter of motication and focus. Digital learning will help us to finally reach ALL students no matter their location, socioeconomic status or ability level. The highly accessible powerful new tools utilized by those participating in the learning revolution AND the demand created by the Idea Economy, leaves us no option but to reinvent the delivery of public education.
