Give back to St. Malachy with Casey's Rewards
The best part? Donations don't come out of your own pocket. When you buy from Casey's and use their rewards program you can simply turn your points into a donation to our school.
Help St. Malachy make the most of this program and learn more at Caseys.com/schools.
Seeking Donations for Newspaper Insert and Radio Commercials:
Our 8th grade class is writing articles for a large insert in the Creston News Advertiser and our 6th grade class is preparing 15 second commercials to be broadcast 5 times each on KSIB radio. The insert will be distributed and the ads broadcast during Catholic Schools Week. The cost for the insert and ads will be approximately $1700. We need your help to fund these great pieces about our school. If you are interested in helping, please send donations to Mrs. Lane at St. Malachy School. If you plan to help please let Mrs. Lane know by January 22nd so we can place your name on our donor list. Thank you! slane@crestonstmalachy.org
Wanted: New Servers for Mass at Holy Spirit
Server Training at Holy Spirit
As the new year beginnings, we have some new changes during Mass. There will be server training to help students learn the new change on Sat., Jan. 11 and Jan. 18 after Mass and on Sun., Jan. 12 and Jan. 19 before Mass starting at 8:30 a.m. All new and experienced servers need to attend the training. Students only need to attend one training!
We are starting to see some illnesses go through our school. Please remember a child must remain at home until at least 24 hours after they are free of fever, diarrhea, vomiting, severe cough/cold, or signs of a fever without the use of a fever-reducing medication.
Catholic Schools Week - January 26th - 31st
Start looking in your child's closet for the swimming suit and make sure it still fits. We are going swimming at the YMCA on January 30th. This is part of our winter fitness day! We are asking that boys wear swim trunks and they can wear a t-shirt if they would like to. Girls we would love a one-piece suit but we know many girls have a two-piece suit. If your daughter has a two-piece we ask that they wear a t-shirt over the two-piece suit. We are looking for modesty and comfort for our girls. If your daughter is comfortable they will be more likely to enjoy themselves during the swimming segment of the day. We will have plenty of lifeguards on staff and we will be staying in the shallow end. Ms. Lesan has water activities planned for the students. It is going to be such a fun day!
