At Bear Creek, we are proud to be a member of the No Excuses University Network. As a No Excuses School we believe that every student has a right to be educated in a way that prepares them for college. We discuss goals, have college conversations, and end our announcements each day with the phrase "After high school comes college"!

STAAR Interim Assessments at Bear Creek

All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking the taking STAAR Math Interim Assessment.

The STAAR Interim Assessments are a way to monitor academic improvement, a tool to inform interventions for students or groups of students based on predictions of STAAR performance, and a benchmarking instrument at the campus or district level.

Fifth grade students will be taking the Math Interim Assessment on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, and third and fourth grade students will be taking the Math Interim Assessment on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Bear Creek Elementary Wall of Heroes

We would like to recognize all service men and women who have served our country in the armed forces, both past and present, with the Bear Creek Elementary 'Wall of Heroes" for our Veterans' Day Celebration on Monday, November 11, 2019.

We are asking for photos of service men and women who have ties to the students and staff of our school. This could include grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, and close family friends. We would like to display photographs of these brave men and women in uniform along with information about their service to our country.

If you would like to participate, please send a digital copy of a photograph to our Art teacher, Mark Fisher, at We are asking for all pictures to be sent by Thursday, October 31, 2019. Along with your photograph, please include your name and rank, branch of service, and when you served, and your relation to student or staff.

GCISD Gold Card Program

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD residents who are 65 years or older are welcome to join the Gold Card Program at absolutely no cost. Members receive free general admission to all athletic (excluding playoffs), theatrical productions and musical events hosted by GCISD. To receive a gold card, residents 65 and older are invited to attend an informational session about the District and learn more about the great things happening in our community.

Parent Tech Academy

The GCISD Parent Tech Academy will be held on November 6 from 6:15 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and will be covering Internet Safety at School and Home.

Hear about the signs of online dangers, cyberbullying, viral trends, and more. We will then dive into tools you can use to protect your home computers just like we do those at school.
