Monomoy Students Visit Spain
MRHS Sharks: Tre Cohrs, Andrew Davock, Margo Dery, Lanie Fritsch, Jane Howard, Amalia Marjollet, Samantha Morse, Hunter Murphy, Tyler Potter, Evie Sheeran, Hanna Slater, Beckett Van Essendelft, Mrs. Chizek, and Ms. Hoff enjoyed fifteen glorious days immersed in the Spanish language and culture on their recent school-to-school exchange trip to Barcelona and Vigo, Spain.
While in Barcelona, students enjoyed authentic restaurants, the Gothic Quarter, Cathedral la Seu de Barcelona, Park Güell, Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, and the Pueblo Español. Students then took an overnight train from Barcelona to Vigo, Spain where they met their host families and lived with them for ten days. The Spanish people opened their homes and hearts to us. We will be forever grateful for the way they invested their time into making a deep connection with each and every one of us. ¡Viva España!

"Newsies" Spring Musical
WHERE: MRHS Auditorium
New York City, 1899. Jack Kelly and his ragtag team of newsboys make a meager living selling newspapers on the city streets. But when the prices of “papes” are hiked and the newsies are hung out to dry, there is nothing left to do but “open the gates and seize the day!” Led by charismatic Jack and independent, young newspaper reporter Katherine Plummer, the Newsies form a union and organize a strike against the greedy publisher of the New York World. Can a group of idealistic newsboys win against a foe as powerful as acclaimed publisher Joseph Pulitzer? Inspired by the true story of the 1899 Newsboys Strike, Newsies is an ebullient, joyful, and entertaining musical capturing the strength that young people have when they join together and stand up against injustice.

Athletics Weekly Summary
March 4th - March 8th
Written by: Caroline Howard
Wow! Has this year flown by so much already! But don’t worry, March has hit us and I have a feeling it is going to be a looooonnnngggg month people! Hate to say it, but it always rolls in like a lion and out like a lamb, and boy does that lion part last awhile! Well, I’ll stop jabbering your ear off about the month of March and get right down to why we are all here! That’s right! The Monomoy Sharks finished out their final week of Winter Sports and are gearing up for Spring! So, away we go!
Boy was Friday night a night to be at the Shark Tank! You would’ve thought you were at a Bruce Springsteen concert back in the 80’s with the amount of people that came out to support our Sharks Boys Basketball team! A special Shark shout-out to the Student Fan Section for their loud cheers and tremendous support throughout the game! You all showed class and sportsmanship for your fellow Sharks, and it did not go unnoticed! Way to go!
The Boys Basketball team started off their Quarterfinal game strong against Norwell, showing great passing and defensive work. However, the Sharks ended up trailing behind, and the final score of the game was 58-28. A great season boys, and congratulations on making it all the way to the Quarterfinals! A job well done!
Thursday brought around a very exciting moment for one of our Sharks! A huge congratulations to Senior Samantha Barr for signing her National Letter of Intent to play softball at Simmons University! A huge accomplishment for this young lady, and one that is well deserved! Monomoy’s full support is behind you, and hey, once a Shark always a Shark! Congrats Samantha!
Well folks, it is time for me to rest my fingers and gear up for Spring Sports! The season is coming fast and I cannot wait to see what is in store for our Sharks! For now, I’m Caroline Howard and Go Sharks!
The Sharks Fan Section Friday night at the Boys Basketball D3 South Quarterfinals!

- Shout out to Baseball Coach Steve Porter who has made great efforts to academically support one of our students who is a player - knowing that Coach cares and reaches out to me as a teacher (supporting his academic growth) means a lot to the student (and me) and we have seen improvement in effort and behavior. -Mr. George Sowpel
