BAND NOTES FROM MRS. SCHWEIHS
All of the supplies and instruments ordered at the rental meetings should have arrived at our first lesson on Friday September 21st. If you notice that anything is missing, please let us know so we can troubleshoot. I know that some of the care kits are on backorder.
If your family still needs an instrument and wants help, please reach out to me (dschweihs@wcusd200.org ). I can provide additional information to get you started. Most important is that you get a quality instrument, in a standard instrument color (no orange, pink, red, purple), and remember to get the book and supplies needed as well (we are using the Sound Innovations bk 1 this year). The book has some cool online features, including tutorial videos, which will help as students and families start this new adventure! The first lesson will focus on instrument assembly and creating our first sounds. Kids are ALWAYS welcome to go ahead of us, but should know that it is ok to make mistakes and weird sounds at the beginning. The effort of creating sounds will help us to improve our sounds, and all of that is part of the learning process! Feel free to reach out with questions- I am very happy to help as we start this journey with our new instruments!
