The MMS Schedule Snapshot
You might notice that this is a student view of their day with the class periods listed. Synchronous (live) instruction will be the focus in the morning. Teachers will share the content, lead discussions, etc. and students will have some time for guided practice with the teacher during the class periods 1-4.
The afternoon with have some asynchronous study hall time for students to work independently on practice work, projects, homework, etc.
I am going to highlight a few things as you read on....
Study Hall - Independent Practice
Periods 1-4 are going to be content rich and include some time for guided practice. This would be practicing the work with the teacher checking for progress.
You will notice that the after lunch time has been broken down into two study halls and a Remote Consultation period.
Study Hall 1 - Students should focus on Math and ELA Independent Practice.
**Or meet with their special education teacher
Study Hall 2 - Students should focus on Science/Social Studies, Specials, (Spanish -8th) Independent Practice.
**Or meet with staff on progress in RtI for students showing signs of struggle in Math or Reading.
Study Halls are Asynchronous and not staffed by a teacher.
Remote Consultation is a 40 minute live session for students to join a live zoom session with the teacher. They can ask questions about the assignment, get clarification, explain what they did and check for accuracy.
