      • Thank you to Carman Austin for volunteering to represent both the SIC and PTA as our staff representatives! If you would be willing to lead our school in these very important advisory positions please let us know as soon as possible!
      • Join us in welcoming Bernard Gill as the new transportation director. He comes to RHSD from Fort Mill.
      • Family Trust has grant opportunities for member of their bank. If you aren't already a member there is a coupon in the calendar provided through the district good for free membership-a $5.00 value. Click the link below for more information. These grants are $250.00 for individuals and $500.00 for groups!
      • Family Trust also has a variety of presentations they will come and do for your class: The Value of Money, The Value of Saving and Checking Principles. Click here for more information:
      • Charleston County Schools has a 1:1 iPad initiative at the elementary level. Be sure to visit their district website for more information or click here to view a PowerPoint about this 1:1 initiative. They are seeing positive results!
      • Check out the website for free education resources that are standards aligned and customizable. Crystal and I glanced through this but didn't delve into it as much as we would like! If you find good things please share how you are using this!
      • Great Apps: Zoodlepad and Common Core Look 4 (CCL4). This site would be great for peer observations that can be tagged with descriptors of what this standard should look like, it also does video. You can even merge observations and can instantly share!
      • Mrs. Guyton and I have formally requested a study be done through Hanover Research regarding the equability of collaboration time for all classroom teachers in elementary school due to the the responsibilities and expectations of teaching in our current climate of accountability. At this time we don't know where this will go, but we will keep you informed as we are given any information.
      • Please look in the R drive to access a document you will need to complete for pre-approval for travel.
      • Our PTA President, Robbie Neal, has resigned as of Wednesday. Sandy Sambucco has agreed to be President and Starla Davis will now serve as Vice-President.
      • Please consider making a dessert to bring to school for WatchDog Dads night next Tuesday (October 9, 2012) This event will begin at 6:30-we are not asking you to stay (although we would love it if you would) but we would like for you to bring a dessert to share with the dads this night! You can bring it with you to school on Tuesday! Thanks for your help with this!
