Newsletter Term 4 Week 6
Patumahoe School 23rd November 2022
FROM THE PRINCIPALS DESK
The production last week was absolutely amazing. The display of talent from the writing to the singing, dancing and acting exceeded any expectations. Of course, no production of this scale is possible without an enormous team effort. Huge thanks to all involved. Special thanks to our past pupils, it was great to have you all here!
The Senior playground is very close to being finished, and the children are desperate to get an opportunity to play on it. Thanks again to our PTA, Board and Pelorus Trust for their support of this development.
Calendar Art - this has arrived and your children will be bringing this home the next couple of days. Thank you for your support of this fundraiser.
The end of the year is always a really busy time at school, please check the key dates below and your school app to ensure that you are up to date with the many events that will be taking place.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you at our whaanau meeting tomorrow afternoon.
Nga mihi nui,
Keryn Grey

PRODUCTION
Just wanted to say thank you to ALL of you who came to the School Production ‘A teary tale of fairy fails!’. The kids had a ball and the feedback was pretty good. Your ongoing support was really appreciated. The costumes you came up with were bang on.
I want to say thank you to all of the parents who were involved in getting the show onto the stage. Danica Mohan was a huge help. Melissa Tilyard and Amy Harkness in the makeup team were amazing. The Tulafono family were extremely helpful. The Senior teaching team were committed and proficient. The Junior team teachers went out of their way to make sure we had the right of way to the hall. Roz Turnbull was a bloomin legend both in stage managing and also giving up shedloads of time in acting coaching and problem solving (except for the stage curtain, just open the curtain Roz!). The Senior kids were also committed and some of the boys might even say they enjoyed it at a push! It was also a treat to have the Year 7 kids back and see them get the job done. Their parents were pretty amazing too in getting their kids prepared and incredibly costumed.
So, now it's done and I have to say it’s quite a big load off!
BUT…
There is still one more job to do. You may recall that there was a lady there filming the show. Her name is Laura Fawthrop and she is Jo Syme’s student teacher. Well I have to say that she did a top job filming and the video has come out really well! There are also a bunch of photos that have been taken and some of them professionally done by Jeremy Lamb (Thanks mate, legend!). Now I can’t promise that your budding thespian is in there, but there’s a whole heap, so they should be!
If you would like a copy of the movie and the photos can you please send $10.00 along to school with your child and a usb stick (the usb stick has to be 32gig minimum) and I’ll chuck all the photo’s and the movie on there for you. The funds will go into fixing the curtain!! And also our future shows at school. Can you please not share the files? Sort of defeats the purpose. ;)
Thanks again everyone.
Todd Williams.
