News from the classroom
The English 7 and Social Studies 7 classes are joining forces to examine the art of persuasion through the work of historical reformers. Rather than simply research and report their understanding, students have chosen to "become" a famous reformer. Student research will culminate in a "living museum" with students performing and informing their visitors as their chosen reformer! If British accents and Southern drawls are being practiced at home, you'll know why!
Sci 7 - We are on the Chemistry Unit. Today we practiced learning about physical and chemical changes of matter.
6th Grade News - On Thursday, May 11th, the Honeoye sixth graders traveled to Bloomfield Middle School to kick off the collaborative projects on Touching Spirit Bear. Students met with their Honeoye teammates, received their tasks and began work on their projects. Students from Bloomfield and Honeoye will be working on their projects in their home school districts for approximately two weeks.
On May 25, Bloomfield students will be traveling to Honeoye to finalize their projects and display what they have accomplished. We will be leaving the school at 10:15 am and returning at 1:30 pm. Students will be eating lunch in Honeoye. Permission slips were sent home on May 10th with students. Please fill out and return the attached permission slip by Wednesday, May 17th.
Also, mark your calendars! We will be setting up an evening viewing of the Honeoye/Bloomfield projects on Thursday, May 25th from 6-7:30 pm in the Honeoye cafeteria. Please join all of us in celebrating and honoring the students’ hard work. We know your child will be eager to show you their project!
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
The 6th Grade Team
