Spring Camporee

On May 13 - 15, 2016, Troop 50 in Victor is hosting the Spring Camporee. Currently there is not a lot of information out. Once I receive more, I will post it in this newsletter.

Summer Camp

Summer camp is approaching fast. The deadline for payment without additional fees (early bird registration):
  • Massawepie due April 27th ($335.00 for boys and $180.00 for adult leaders)
  • Babcock Hovey due April 28th ( $335 for boys and $180 for adult leaders)
Troop 30 has a deposit for Algonquin at Babcock Hovey for July 10 – 15th, 2016. Massawepie is reserved for July 30 - August 6, 2016.

Sibling Incentive: If brothers attend summer camp, then each brother receives a $25.00 discount off the camp fee.

Additional Week of Camp Discount: If your scout attends a second week of camp in summer 2016 as a provisional scout at either camp, the cost for the second week is only $190.

Eagle Flight

Eagle Flight is a special week of camp at Babcock Hovey from July 3 - 8, 2016. At this camp you can earn or finish MANY merit badges needed for Eagle. The fee is $425 for scouts 14 years or older. For more information, click here.

National Jamboree

The 2017 National Jamboree is July 19 - 28 in West Virginia. Registration is now open and troops are forming. The price is $1,700 and can be paid in monthly installments. This is a wonderful event and not many boys have the opportunity to attend. For more information, click the link below.

Merit Badge Exploration

Our Committee is considering putting together merit badge weekends where you can work on specific merit badges with certified counselors. We will be scheduling one Saturday a month with an AM and PM session. If you wish to attend both sessions, we will ask you to bring money for lunch. Probably pizza from Faro's.

Please let us know if you would be interested in this. If so, what merit badges are you interested in?

Position of Responsibility/ Volunteer Hours

Cub Scout Pack 30 is in need of Den Chiefs. They have roughly 21 wolf cubs that meet on Monday nights. Lions den meets every other Wednesday.

The Monday night meetings might be tough since our troop meets then, but you could always share the responsibility with a few other scouts. This way you all get volunteer hours and don't miss a lot of troop meetings.
