An inspirational morning!
What do you get when you have a committed group of volunteers, a welcoming Jewish Day School, and motivated educators across our sunny region?
JEDcamp South Florida!
Just about 40 educators from across 3 counties in the South Florida area gave up their Sunday morning in the hopes of being inspired by other educators with similar goals. Whether you are a teacher or just passionate about teaching, there was something to learn and share at JEDcamp South Florida this past Sunday.
The JEDcamp phenomena, based on edcamps, began in our area three years ago, and we were all proud to be able to continue the learning with our 4th event. It’s an informal opportunity for Jewish educators to gather and discuss what they do and how to do it better. JEDcampSoFl was a morning worth of valuable interaction and learning with professional peers from Jewish Day Schools from all over South Florida and beyond. This year, the Rabbi Alexander S. Gross Hebrew Academy of Miami Beach graciously hosted JEDcamp South Florida this year. Their facility was just right and lunch was even better!
JEDcamp focused on conversation and participation. At the beginning of the event, the session board began to be filled up with educators who wanted to discuss issues facing their schools and classrooms as well as ideas to inspire others.
Examples of our session titles included:
Tech Toys to Expand your Curriculum
Project-Based Learning - What is it? and How to do it?

GAFE-Google Apps for Education
