From Dr. Gruman

Dear Northwest Families,

We have enjoyed another wonderful week of learning opportunities! You can check your student's progress in Skyward for the overview grade. Canvas will offer more details about individual assignments and activities.

We definitely want to share a big "Thank you" to our PTSA for the wonderful treats for our staff this morning! We are grateful for the lovely snacks and the generosity of our seniors and senior families that donated for our teachers. Our teachers and staff are so appreciative of these donations and your kindness. It definitely makes our day brighter!

We hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend!

All the best,

Dr. Lisa Gruman

Crazy Eights

Next Friday, 9/23 & Saturday 9/24 will be our debut performance of what will hopefully become a new Northwest Theatre Tradition. Thespian Troupe #888 presents: “Crazy 8’s,” Original One Acts written & directed by SMNW students. Crazy 8’s are especially crazy because our amazing student leadership and cast have pulled them together in only two-weeks. Runtime is approximately 1 and a half hours, with a fifteen-minute intermission. This Blitz Theatre experience will take place in the auditorium at 7pm. Free Admission.

From the Nurse

Please see the following link for information regarding current SMSD COVID guidance:

If your student tests positive for COVID, please consider the day symptoms started or day of positive test as “day 0.” Your student may return on day 6 as long as they have been fever-free without the use of medications for 24 hours and other symptoms have resolved. Students should wear a mask on days 6-10 when they return to school.

When calling attendance for a COVID positive student, please leave the date symptoms started, as well as your student’s “day 6.” This will prevent having to call into attendance each day your student is absent.

Once a student is feeling better, but still isolating at home, we recommend they email their teachers regarding any school work they may be able to complete while home.

If you have visited the link above and still have questions, please call the SMNW nurse office. Positive cases do not need to be reported to the nurse office if you have left a message with the attendance office.
