It is ideally situated for visiting some of the most interesting and beautiful towns of Umbria and Tuscany. Cortona, Assisi, Citta delle Pieve, Spello, Perugia, Montepulciano, Passignano and Orvieto are less than an hour's drive away. The area is well served by rail and approximately an hour on the train will take you to Rome or Florence.
Castiglione, a beautiful walled, lake-side town with its quaint streets, restaurants, bars, shops and beaches is about a ten minute drive away. Castiglione also has a magnificent Rocca (ancient fortress) with spectacular views which hosts open-air musical and theatrical events.

A living-kitchen on the lower floor is newly equipped with dishwasher, washer/drier, microwave, electric hob, fridge/freezer and all the necessary pots, pans, utensils and crockery. There is a dining-table with chairs and Ingle-nook fireplace.
On the top floor there is the main large bedroom with a balcony overlooking the countryside. This room faces mainly south so receives the sun most of the day. The room is fitted with a double bed, bunk beds and a wardrobe. It can therefore accommodate four persons if required.
A further room is situated on the middle floor. This is equipped with a three-quarter sofa-bed and cupboard space so can be used as an additional bedroom, but also makes a lovely lounge.
The bathroom housing both bath and shower, toilet and bidet is on a mezzanine floor between the middle and top floor thus serving, with privacy both of the bedrooms.

Facilities and Activities
Your nearest town is Castiglione del Lago. On the outskirts and less than ten minutes drive away you find two large supermarkets. The town itself is dotted with quaint shops selling delicious local produce, meats, cheeses, wines and cakes.
Perugia, which is about 45 minutes drive away, has a wonderful Saturday market and larger shops selling everything from clothes and shoes to makeup, ceramics and household goods.
Montepulciano is the place to go if you want leather goods. Shops selling Leather bags and shoes line the main street. It is also the place to enjoy sampling fine wines after exploring underground Etruscan cantinas.
Take in a Festa or Sagra. During the months from June through September there are so many to choose from you will be spoilt for choice!
If you are feeling energetic there is pony-trekking in the hills around Castel Rigone, rambling, cycling and water sports on Lake Trasimeno. Ferries run frequently from Castiglione and Passignano to the islands of Isola Maggiore and Isola Polvese.
