HEALTH OFFICE UPDATES
- We are updating our students’ electronic health record software system. Families will be receiving an email inviting them to log into the Health Portal. Please contact mary.giuliana@reading.k12.ma.us with any questions.
Starting February 1, 2023, our school’s health staff will begin health screenings for all tenth-grade students. The screenings include hearing, vision, height and weight, and SBIRT.
SBIRT stands for Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment. SBIRT is used to screen for alcohol, nicotine, tobacco, and other drug use. These health screenings are required by Massachusetts law. If you would like to opt your student out of any of these screenings, or have any questions, please contact mary.giuliana@reading.k12.ma.us. For more information about SBIRT screenings, see here.

Who will be crowned this year's Misster RMHS?
Do you have a special talent? Can you name all 50 states while doing a hand stand? Is the basketball team willing to face off against the football team in an epic Karaoke battle? Can you play the recorder with your nose? Could you and your friends start the next TikTok dance craze? Are you the next Bo Burnham? We want you! The Misster RMHS title is on the line, the first step is coming to the informational meeting!
This annual variety show is open to all grades & genders!
UNIFIED BASKETBALL
We are so excited to share that this spring will be the inaugural season of the RMHS Unified Basketball Team!! Unified sports allows students with and without disabilities to compete together, develop connections and breakdown stereotypes by building friendships.
The team will be competing against other schools in the Middlesex League and will start the week of April 3rd and run through May 24th. The team has a 5 game season that will conclude with a jamboree on May 24th at Wakefield Memorial High School where RMHS will compete against the other teams in the league. (We will not meet the week of April vacation.)
After the opening week of two practices, we will hold one practice and one game per week with practices being 1 hour long. Practices will likely be held at Coolidge Middle School, and home games will be held at RMHS.
If you are interested in playing on the team or have any questions, please reach out to Coach, Tara Herlihy, Coolidge Special Education teacher, at Tara.Herlihy@reading.k12.ma.us or Tom Zaya, RMHS Athletic Director at Thomas.Zaya@reading.k12.ma.us
We will be holding a Zoom meeting for interested students and parents of students interested in playing on the team in the coming weeks. We’re looking forward to a fun season!

* Our new librarian, Lynda Moylan is doing amazing things and we are excited for what is to come but she needs our help getting the Fiction section enhanced. She can accept gently used books or new books (she has a Whitelam Books registry, as well - shop local and help our school!)
