Planning for Next Year

Once again we are beginning to organize for the upcoming school year. This includes staffing, timetables and new registrations. If you will be leaving our school, please let us know. As well, if you know new families in our area, please encourage them to register as soon as possible. This helps with our planning!

We are also lookng at next year’s class placements for students. As a small school, we have few options, but we do need to make some decisions in regards to class placements depending on our organization. The creation of classes is a complex task that takes into account many factors. When determining placements for next year we consider learning and academic needs, behavioural and social needs, gender balance and class size. Our ultimate goal is to create balanced classrooms that maximize the potential for student learning.

We recognize that, in some cases, you may want to give input as a parent/guardian. In these cases, please submit a written or emailed request directly to us by Friday, May 31st indicating the reasons for your request. The request should identify the optimal conditions for your child’s success but should not indicate a specific teacher request. We will do our best to accommodate your child’s needs but cannot guarantee specific placements.

We appreciate your support and understanding in this matter. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Country Fair! Saturday, May 25, 2019 (10:00 - 2:00)

Our Annual Country Fair is quickly approaching. This is our biggest fundraiser and our Country Fair Parents have been working tirelessly at organizing a wonderful fair for our students and their families. The staff of JPS would like to express our tremendous gratitude to our parents who are helping with this amazing event, including doing the judging of the school-wide poster contest!

We are in need of volunteers for the day. If you have a high school student who needs some volunteer hours or if you are able to volunteer that day, we'd appreciate the extra help. Also, if you haven't gotten your class basket donations in, please do so in the next week or two.

Contact Fay Cooper at if your able to volunteer!

This should be a great day!

Ticks and Lyme Disease

Tick season is here. As the weather gets warmer, we recommend that you check your child regularly ito avoid bites and potential for lyme disease. If you would like more information, please contact the health unit or check out the link below.
