August 2020
Advocate * Mentor * Learn
Breathe.. You Have a Community
Welcome back to a new and very different school year. As we all begin this uncharted and ever changing journey, having a community provides us the reassurance that we are not in this alone.
Arizona Mathematics Leaders is your community. We need to be able to lean on and learn from each other as we Advocate for safety, and equity; Mentor new and experienced teachers working in new leaning environments and; Learn together to be the leaders others need us to be.
Plan to join us for our first Lead and Learn, (temporarily replacing our Lunch and Learns); "Putting SEL First with Teachers, Students and Families."
Social Emotional Learning (SEL), is a phrase used freely by school leaders and we will look more closely at what this means for us as mathematic leaders.
Details and registration link is provided below.
I sincerely look forward to "seeing" you on August 28 at our first community event for 2020-21.
Have a great day,
Jane

They will present the positive impact of social emotional instruction, along with simple ideas to engage your students, teachers and increase family engagement.
Attendees will leave this meeting with ideas and resources to help them continue to be inspiring teachers who connect with their students. Don’t miss this purposeful and meaningful presentation around social and emotional learning. Suzi Mast will follow-up by making explicit connections between the SEL competencies and the mathematics practices.
