Subsidence

The Weather Data Company

Real-time, Localized, Weather Data

Subsidence generates real-time, localized, weather data, powered by dense grids of patent-pending, next generation weather stations. The hardware designed by Subsidence detects rain, hail, wind, and other weather events directly at the Earth’s surface where the risk to life and property is greatest. The information collected by Subsidence is analyzed and processed to create real-time datasets and views of the movement and intensity of weather events to provide better insight and early detection of risks.

Better than live radar

Radar and satellite images give an excellent level of detail from above, but they can not provide any insight to what is going on at the surface. This insufficient data leads to poor lead times for severe storm warnings and the lack of ground truth. With Subsidence's weather stations in dense grids that are spaced miles apart, you can see the full effect of weather conditions and track them in real-time.

About Us

Founded in 2012 by Alex Kubicek and Bryan Dow, Subsidence is a weather data company that provides dense surface observations generated by proprietary weather stations. This composite of granular weather data has applications across a variety of markets, including broadcasting, insurance, power trading, forecasting, and risk mitigation. Subsidence works with individual customers to establish a high-definition observation network that suits specific weather data needs.
