Neal Shusterman to Visit Pike MS

Get ready for an exciting time with author Neal Shusterman on January 24th from 3:30-4:40 p.m. in the Pike MS gym. Author of the Unwind series will spend the day at 4 NISD schools including Pike. Book Club

Due to the bad weather days in December, the Book Club for Legend by Marie Lu has been rescheduled for January 29th during all 3 lunches. Students interested in participating in the book club should sign-up in the library. It's not too late for faculty or students to check out a copy of Legend and participate.

Young Adult Keller Book Festival, January 25th

The YAK festival will be held on January 25th at Keller High School 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. It's free to all faculty and students. For more information on YAK click on this link. For a list of authors presenting at YAK click on this link.


25 Book Challenge Continues

Pike students have been participating in the 25 Book Challenge this year. 196 students who read 10 or more books were treated with a movie at the Northwest HS PAC on December 20th. Students who have read 15 or more books will be invited to participate in the 15 Book Challenge incentive on February 21st with a special dessert and extra lunch time. The 25 Book Challenge database will close on February 17th. All students at Pike who read 25 or more books this year will enjoy a fun day at Main Event in May.

Super Coders

Pike Students Participate in Hour of Code

Pike students joined 15 million other students world-wide in December celebrating an Hour of Code. The group continues to meet and is working on coding computer games.
