You will not need experience with some of the companies, they will provide you with the training you need. joining a college that has a good cosmetology program, and get your degree and license. I advise you to look around and different campuses and see what school fits you the best.
Hard work
Cosmetology requires you to work full time, and be able to squish walk-ins in your busy schedule. Working hard from the time you clock in to the time you clock out.
Communication
Being able to speak more than one language is an a plus. I advise you if you do not like to talk, or don't have good communication skills you should probably chose another job. Being able to start conversation and keep it going for the amount of time it takes for you to finish your product.
Salary
It is important that stylists tell their clients to re-book before they leave the salon, and encourage their clientele to keep coming back and referring friends and family.
