John Morgan Fahey named National Merit Semifinalist

Arlington High senior John Morgan Fahey has been named a National Merit Semifinalist - one of only 16,000 in the country! As a junior, John Morgan had to take the Preliminary SAT to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program. On Monday, it was announced that he is among the highest-scoring students in the state!


He'll now compete to become a finalist. We sat down John Morgan to ask him about this recognition and learn more about his time as an AHS student. You can read it here.

Who said P.E. class was nothing but dodgeball and basketball? Arlington Elementary's Coach Halford got his students up and dancing to The Charleston to help them get active!

Arlington High School’s graduation rate continues to trend upward, according to data released this week by the Tennessee Department of Education.

AHS’ grad rate for the 2018-2019 school year was 97.27 percent, up .07 points from the previous year. Overall, AHS has the 2nd highest graduation rate in Shelby County, following Bartlett City Schools.

Since 2013, Arlington’s rate has increased by nearly 2.5 percentage points.

Tennessee’s average graduation rate is 89.7 percent.

College Fair returns to Arlington High

Nearly 80 colleges and universities stopped by Arlington High School today for the annual college fair! All 2,100 students got the chance to speak to college reps and learn about campus life and the different majors and programs. Check out some of the pics below!

AES celebrates Constitution Day with living museum

The Father of the U.S. Constitution, James Madison, stopped by AES today to celebrate Constitution Day! In this living museum, students learned about the formation of the Constitution and what it took to be signed and ratified by the states.

AHS Varsity Volleyball dominates Bartlett

The Lady Tigers defeated the Panthers Wednesday night in all three sets: 25-13, 25-15 and 25-17! The team takes on Cordova next Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in the AHS gym.
