Congrats Alex King
Congrats to Alex King, Lovett 2020 Teacher of the Year. Her student were so excited when we surprised her last week. Thank you Alex for bringing your talents to Lovett and for supporting students and teachers across our building!
Where are you with your classroom management?
Throughout our building we've had lots of conversation about classroom management. It's that time of the year where kids are testing the waters, we are still weeks away from spring break, and you may have some of our students that along with behavior, they are just not putting forth the effort they need to. Below, I have included a quick read for you from ASCD in hopes that it sparks an idea or reinforces something you are already doing. My biggest suggestion as you reflect on management is to work on what you can control and be very consistent with your expectations and follow through. Classroom management, even for me, was the thing I needed to reflect on the most. I had to really work on consistency, my patience, and relationship building with my students. Once I figured out what really worked for me, there was still constant tweaking with each new group of students. Never be afraid or hesitant to reflect and make adjustments to better meet the needs of your students.
