Hello Liberty House Faculty and Families!


Just a quick weekly update to keep you informed in what's happening in Liberty House!

Patriots of the Month

We have just announced our Patriots of the Month for September! Patriots of the Month are students who exemplify one or more of the qualities outlined below. Each month, Liberty House teachers and staff will nominate 2 to 3 Liberty House students per grade each month to be recognized on the Liberty House bulletin board.


P = polite, persevering, persistent, positive patient


A = accepting, authentic, aware, ambitious, adaptable, amiable


T = trustworthy, thoughtful, tolerant, truthful, tenacious


R = respectful, responsible, resilient, resilient, resourceful, reliable


I = independent, intuitive, intelligent, imaginative, inquisitive

Grade 8 Meet Up at Mill Hill!

Grade 8 Students - join Mrs. Jones for a night of ghost stories and Norwalk history at historic Mill Hill. A Haunting at Mill Hill is an annual telling of spooky tales by Norwalk's very own ghosts! Tickets are $20 CASH ONLY (Mrs. Jones will place a group order). Print the flyer below and return with payment. Email Mrs. Jones with any questions - jonesa@norwalkps.org. Grade 8 students only, please.


There are 2 options for the meet up:


Friday, October 18th at 7:30 PM

***Please note - this is a MEET UP and transportation to Mill Hill Historic Park is NOT provided. Students must be dropped off and picked up by a known adult.***

End of Sept. Updates

Homework Club is up and running! We have already had students utilizing this quiet time to get some extra help or extra time with support (if needed). All students are welcome on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Room 207 (Mrs. Jones).


In the meantime, here are some of the other things Liberty House is planning for the near future, plus other NHMS events...


September:

  • Homework Club - We're starting to get a regular crowd! Homework Club will run most Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Mrs. Jones' classroom, Room 207..


October:

  • Liberty Community Art Project with 5iveFingaz - Finalizing soon!
  • Nature's Classroom trip for our 7th Grade students -- we still have spots if your child is not registered!!! Please contact Amy Jones for more info.


November:

  • Veteran's Day Activities - Finalizing soon!
  • Picture Day has been rescheduled for Nov. 6th.
