The Pamlico Sound is located on the East Coast and takes up majority of the Outer Banks eastern coast. Most people visit the Outer Banks for recreational purposes and other see it as an opportunity for fishing.

The Pamlico Sound is very important for North Carolina as it provides multiple benefits. This is an important network channel for shipping companies. It is also very important when it comes to recreational. Many different recreational activities can be done when it comes to the Pamlico Sound. It also provides a variety of ecosystems for animals to live in.
