"Achieving Our Dreams through Education"
Mindfulness
First I would like to tell you, "Good Job!" We have a very meaningful and wonderful profession educating children. There are days we are walking on air, while on other days we feel under the weather. But if it was easy everyone would do it. Thanks for all your hard work, I wake up everyday looking forward to work because I believe in what we are doing together and I love the community we serve. Plus having wonderful people like you to be around makes it that much better.
Mindfulness:
This week I have included many resources about mindfulness. This has become a popular theme in education, although it is not a new one. I was taught some of the skills to become more aware as an elementary student and I used those same skills to obtain my graduate degree and attempt to utilize them daily. The MBI team has been discussing mindfulness and how it may possible help our school, there are also local agencies working with students to incorporate mindfulness in their lives. Please read up.
Reminder's:
At our Staff Meeting Friday we discussed a lot of things. Please remember:
- Use Active Supervision while you are on Recess Duty,
- Practice the SBAC with your students, grades 3-5, during reading or in the morning at the beginning of the day.

Reading
A friend of mine shared his reading list and I was inspired to share mine with you again. Some are professional, personal and some are just for fun. Some of them I finished as audiobooks and others via kindle, old fashioned paper and most while opting to skip a movie or tv show. :) I do have a difficult time reading one book at a time, unless it is for leisure, so I rotate books throughout the week.
