Senior Final Project
This June, Seniors are delivering their Senior Project presentations, the culminating event for the semester-long research project in English IV, ERWC. The research and multi-media project utilizes California Common Core State Standards for Language Arts and demonstrates skills that students have successfully acquired throughout their high school academic experience at FHS.
FHS Club SADD
On Sunday, June 4th, Club SADD board members Ethan Nicholl and Brandon Khamenian volunteered at the Club SADD booth at Tustin’s 33rd Annual Chili Cook-Off. Club members from all three TUSD high schools sold root beer floats and raised awareness about impaired driving.
Club SADD, which stands for Students Against Destructive Decisions, give students a chance to volunteer both on-campus and throughout the community, at events such as Tustin Tiller Days and Tustin’s Chili Cook-Off. Club president Ethan Nicholl explained that club members regularly volunteer at community events to raise awareness about impaired driving, drug use, underage drinking, and other dangers and pressures teenagers face today.
The Foothill chapter of Club SADD recently donated some of its funds to “Every 15 Minutes,” a program that alerts teens about the dangers of impaired driving by portraying an accident with student actors and showing the actual effects impaired driving can have on the lives of those involved.
Nicholl added that students who love volunteering and helping others will find a place in Club SADD, a place where they can be someone who is able to make change in the community and see how those changes affect others.
