PBIS News

PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports. Our staff is trained to look for opportunities to celebrate the positive things that students do each day. We teach students what the expectations are for every area of the building so that they enter a safe and predictable environment. We expect our students to ROW Like Vikings no matter where they are at DES. ROW stands for Respect, Ownership and Wise Choices. Students will earn ROW tickets when they are caught showing these positive behaviors and their tickets can earn them fun incentives throughout the school year.

Congratulations to this week's ROW Ticket Classroom Winners! (Pictured above)

Mrs. Love and Mr. Briggs also celebrated positive cafeteria behavior with 2nd graders who were drawn for Pizza with Principals! (Pictured below)

Stay Connected!

If you are not already receiving phone, text and/or email alerts, please contact our DES office to be sure we have your correct contact information listed within our system. These alerts can be for regular weekly communication, but can also be for building or district emergencies or updates.

If you are on social media, please consider following our Dundee Elementary Facebook Page. Photos, updates and weekly newsletters are posted there.

Lastly, if you haven't already connected with your student's teacher on Bloomz, please consider doing so. Bloomz is the main form of communication that teachers use to interact with families. If you aren't sure how to get connected, please contact your student's teacher or the office and we'd be happy to help!

Handle With Care

Handle with Care is a system in which our staff can be aware that your child or family may be experiencing a hardship outside of school that may impact their day at school. By notifying the school principal, we can be sure that those who come in contact with your child throughout the day handles them with extra understanding and TLC. You do not have to provide us with any details at all unless you wish to do so. You can simply send an email that states: Handle with Care with your child's name. Information can be sent to Mrs. Love or Mr. Briggs on Bloomz or via school email at Shana.love@dundeeschools.org or jaybriggs@dundeeschools.org.

Anyone can report tips confidentially on criminal activities or potential harm directed at students, school employees, or schools.
