RETENTION CONCERN REPORT
Below is a link for a retention concern/referral form that can be used by all faculty and/or staff to report student concerns. The Retention Concern Report is a tool faculty can use to identify at-risk students. Through these reports, UWA CARES will provide those students with access to services and programs that can assist them in overcoming barriers to their academic success.
SERVICES AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS
- Monitored study hall: Open 6 days a week and located in Spieth 200, students have access to updated technology and graduate assistants who can help with any coursework questions.
- Tutoring: Free to all students, tutors are available in almost all subjects, such as math, english, history, fine arts, and more. Students should see Mrs. Lasandra Tolbert in Spieth 228 to sign up for a tutor.
- Advising: All freshman and sophomore students are assigned a CARES Advisor. The instructor of each students' UWA101 class is their assigned CARES Advisor, so students should be familiar with their advisor. However, if a student does not know who their advisor is or is not able to contact his/her advisor, the student can contact Mrs. Angel Jowers in Spieth 226.
- Testing Room: Students can request to reserve a room for any testing needs. Faculty can also request access to this room for students enrolled in their courses. Students and faculty should contact Mrs. Lasandra Tolbert in Spieth 228 to request these services.
