Friday Night Lights are Back!
The Wildcats will host Avon tonight...the lights will be on and football will be back with kickoff at 7:00. The game will be livestreamed on the MIC Network and on Twitter @micnetworkIN. Stay updated to all of the athletics news by following Twitter @lnwildcats, Facebook @Lawrence North Athletics) and on the LN Athletics website.
With so much of life interrupted and upended by COVID-19, players, coaches, parents and fans are excited to get in a game of competition.
Let's go Wildcats...Beat Avon!
We did it! Students, parents, educators...we not only MADE IT through the first full week, we ROCKED it!
A huge thank you to the IT staff who have handled (and continue to address) the many challenges of connectivity, new accounts, login issues, equipment distribution...and went above and beyond to help our students access their education.
A huge thank you to the custodial staff for their ongoing cleaning and sanitizing to keep our building clean and all of the necessary furniture movement to accommodate social distancing in classrooms.
A huge thank you to the front office staff who have answered phone calls, provided quick trouble-shooting, welcomed new-to-LN students and directed traffic...with patience, kindness and friendliness.
A huge thank you to the counselors who have made adjustments and schedule changes, done and re-done schedules and worked with students and parents trying to navigate all of the changes, implications and details of the attendance options.
A huge huge huge thank you to the teachers who have been tasked with adapting their classroom instruction to reach not only those seated in their room, but those learning from dining tables, desks, living rooms and quiet spaces at home.
Parents...your LN educators are INCREDIBLE and the support from the community has been greatly appreciated.
The schedule each week is exactly the same for Monday-Thursday, with Friday starting with Flex and alternating weekly with Green and Red days. Friday, Aug 28th will be a GREEN DAY.

Longtime LN Track Coach Resigns
Hillary Church has resigned her position as the Lawrence North girls head track and field coach. The longtime coach of the Wildcat track program cited a desire for more family time in her decision. Church said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Wildcat Community and will continue to help and support in any way possible.”
- Church was an assistant coach for 10 years before taking the head coach position in 2006. In her 15 years as head coach, the Wildcats had much success, winning six IHSAA Sectional championships, two Regional titles, a third place at the IHSAA State Meet, two IHSAA State Runner-Up finishes, and IHSAA State Championships in 2009 and 2011. The 2009 State Championship was the first girl’s state title in school history for any sport.
- In 2016, two of her former athletes, who were individual IHSAA state champions at Lawrence North, represented the United States at the Rio Olympic Games; Felisha Johnson in the shot put and Ashley Spencer in the 400m hurdles where she won the bronze medal.
- She was also a coach for the Wildcat cross-county team. She was an assistant on the 1999 team that was the IHSAA State Runner-Up, and took over as head coach from 2001-2009, winning six Marion County championships, one MIC conference title, three IHSAA Sectional championships and three IHSAA Regional championships.
Thank you, Coach Church...we wish you the best!
