TIER 3 MEETINGS ON MONDAY!!

PLCs

Lots of great learning took place at last week's PLC conference in San Antonio! We can't wait to share the new learning on October 26th. Team Leaders - if you would like to take some time in PLCs this week to talk about your PLC experience, feel free to do so:-)

Lockdown Drill

We will be having our first lockdown drill of the year this week, so start talking to your students about expectations during a lockdown drill. The procedures for lockdown drills were in the packet of information that you received during August inservice. If you need another copy, please let Christine know. When it's time for the drill, I will make an announcement telling you it's time to lockdown. Please remember the following:

  • Turn lights off
  • Check the hallway and bring in any students in the hallway to your room
  • Get in the closet, or in a corner, away from the door and window
  • Stay calm and quiet
  • Do not come out until an administrator unlocks the door

Please reassure your students that this is just practice, like a fire drill, in the event that we have a threat in the school. This type of drill can be very scary for our little ones. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

LOCKDOWN DRILL THIS WEEK!!!

Picture Day is Wednesday

I am attaching the picture schedule to the email, so please be sure that you have your class to the cafeteria at the time of your pictures. Christine tried to work around specials, lunch and recess to the best of her ability. This will help Dianne keep everything on schedule. The pictures will be in the yearbook, so smile pretty:-) Dianne is also providing the faculty with badges again this year.

1st Quarter Self Assessments are due Friday

Friday's deadline for 1st Quarter Self Assessments is firm and cannot be extended, so please make sure that you get those submitted on for before the deadline. If you have any issues with submitting your assessments, please let Eric or me know.

Please make sure your grades are updated in Gradebook, because grades are due on Monday, October 24th by 4:00 pm. Parent Conferences are coming soon...

October 28th is an early release day for parent/teacher conferences. Fall conferences are for all parents, so please make sure you contact parents soon (if you haven't already) about setting up a time to conference. If you need Eric or I to sit in on one of your conferences, please let us know. We will be more than happy to be there for you:-)

Point Venture Lions Club Grants

It's that time of the year again to submit a grant proposal to Point Venture Lions Club. If you have an innovative idea for your classroom, but need some funds to get it started, then this grant is for you! Let me know if you need a copy of the grant proposal. I attached it to last week's email. All grant proposals are due on or before October 28th.

Good luck!!
