Tudor Doctor: Summer Reading Challenge
Join the Summer Reading Challenge from Tudor Doctor!
Reading over the summer is a great way for kids to keep up their reading skills, which is why Tutor Doctor is running a Summer Reading Challenge! How does the challenge work?
- Decide which books you would like to read from our Recommended Reading List (or find your own)
- Fill out the worksheet answering 4 questions about each book that you have read
- Once you have read the number of books for your age group, submit your worksheet by July 31, 2022.
- You will be entered into a prize drawing with the chance of winning great prizes like giant pop-its, water blasters and Bruster’s gift cards.
Digital Summer Learning
Students will be able to access the Digital Summer Support eCLASS page to participate in self-paced, digital summer support opportunities in reading and math from June 6 to July 12. To request a device for your child, please complete this form. Device requests must be submitted by May 20, 2022. Devices will be sent home during the last week of school.
*If you will be participating in our In-Person summer school by invitation only, devices do NOT need to be requested.

Mask Guidance
On Friday, February 25, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its guidance and the prevention steps that should be taken based on the spread of COVID-19 in communities. Click here for the CDC guidance and the prevention steps. As part of the changes announced, the CDC is dropping its recommendation for universal school masking and instead will recommend masking only in communities at a high level of risk. According to the CDC, Gwinnett County is currently in a “Low” level of community spread. At this level, individuals are encouraged to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and to get tested if they have symptoms. In light of this updated guidance and Gwinnett County’s designation in the “Low” level of community spread, Gwinnett County Public Schools will transition from requiring masks to strongly recommending the use of masks in its facilities. In the coming days, school district leaders will be reviewing and updating quarantine and isolation procedures to account for these changes.
Birthday Celebration Policy
Just a reminder of our Birthday Celebration Policy. This can be found in our Student/Parent Handbook as well.
Birthday Celebrations
Because of allergies, students wishing to have a treat for their class should use the Ice Cream plan. This plan provides ice cream for every student in the class for $1 per student. Birthday parties are not allowed at school. Balloons, flowers, etc. cannot be delivered to children at school or taken home on the bus. Party invitations may not be distributed at school.
If you will ask the teacher how many students are in the classroom, you can send in money and let the teacher know which day that week you would like to purchase ice cream for the entire class in honor of your student's birthday. The students all get to choose which ice cream they would like and they receive it at lunch that day. Thank you for your understanding.
