Clothing and Household Donations Drive
During the week of April 18th, send gently used clothing, accessories and small household items with your students so they can be donated through the school. Our textile recycling bin gets filled with donations all year long. Once the bin is full, it’s collected by Charity Recycling Services and our school earns money based on the weight of the items. All items must be in clean, usable condition and bagged. All small household items should be in working condition and must be non-breakable. See below for a list of acceptable items!
Women's, Men’s and Children's Clothing/Accessories (casual, athletic, formal, jeans, jackets, sweaters, shirts, shoes, purses, backpacks, hats, gloves, etc)
Small Household Items (pots, pans, towels, sheets, toys, books, etc)
The textile recycling bin is open all year long and is located in the car rider line. You’re welcome to put your donations directly into the bin anytime throughout the year!

Mask Guidance
On Friday, February 25, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its guidance and the prevention steps that should be taken based on the spread of COVID-19 in communities. Click here for the CDC guidance and the prevention steps. As part of the changes announced, the CDC is dropping its recommendation for universal school masking and instead will recommend masking only in communities at a high level of risk. According to the CDC, Gwinnett County is currently in a “Low” level of community spread. At this level, individuals are encouraged to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and to get tested if they have symptoms. In light of this updated guidance and Gwinnett County’s designation in the “Low” level of community spread, Gwinnett County Public Schools will transition from requiring masks to strongly recommending the use of masks in its facilities. In the coming days, school district leaders will be reviewing and updating quarantine and isolation procedures to account for these changes.

Birthday Celebration Policy
Just a reminder of our Birthday Celebration Policy. This can be found in our Student/Parent Handbook as well.
Birthday Celebrations
Because of allergies, students wishing to have a treat for their class should use the Ice Cream plan. This plan provides ice cream for every student in the class for $1 per student. Birthday parties are not allowed at school. Balloons, flowers, etc. cannot be delivered to children at school or taken home on the bus. Party invitations may not be distributed at school.
If you will ask the teacher how many students are in the classroom, you can send in money and let the teacher know which day that week you would like to purchase ice cream for the entire class in honor of your student's birthday. The students all get to choose which ice cream they would like and they receive it at lunch that day. Thank you for your understanding.
