Student Service's Corner-Mental Health Awareness Month
Falcons, Welcome back to a New Year!
Recognize the importance of January as Mental Wellness Month and we are dedicating this month for promoting overall mental wellness.
Mental Health is a state of well-being in which every person realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life and feel like you can work productively and contribute to your community.
Mental Wellness is about how all aspects of your life, social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and intellectual, all come together for an overall state of wellbeing.
Mental health determines how we act, feel, and think, and it affects our ability to handle stress, connect to other people and to make decisions.
We can improve our metal wellness by these helpful tips:
Exercise
Eating healthy
building resilience to cope and recover from negative events in your life
Getting plenty of rest/sleep
Helping others
focusing on the good rather than focusing on the negative
