Student Service's Corner-Mental Health Awareness Month

Falcons, Welcome back to a New Year!

Recognize the importance of January as Mental Wellness Month and we are dedicating this month for promoting overall mental wellness.

Mental Health is a state of well-being in which every person realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life and feel like you can work productively and contribute to your community.

Mental Wellness is about how all aspects of your life, social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and intellectual, all come together for an overall state of wellbeing.

Mental health determines how we act, feel, and think, and it affects our ability to handle stress, connect to other people and to make decisions.

We can improve our metal wellness by these helpful tips:

Exercise

Eating healthy

building resilience to cope and recover from negative events in your life

Getting plenty of rest/sleep

Helping others

focusing on the good rather than focusing on the negative

Free Parent Education Classes!

These classes are through North County Lifeline for FREE Parent Education workshops offered in English and Spanish. The parenting classes are an 8 week course via virtual setting at this time. Parents that are interested need to call them directly for more specific information and the start dates for the new series. The representative informed me that the parent would need to participate since the beginning/first session as they cannot come in when the classes have already started. The next series is expected to start in January 2021.Please see the flyers attached below
