Pope Francis Monthly Intention: Health Care Workers
We pray for health care workers who serve the sick and the elderly, especially in the poorest countries; may they be adequately supported by governments and local communities.
On Mother Suzanne Aubert’s Sainthood
A medical council of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints at the Vatican has ruled that a potential miracle by the Venerable Mother Suzanne Aubert can be explained by medical science. This means that Meri Hōhepa Suzanne Aubert has not achieved the first of two miracles required to reach sainthood.
Suzanne Aubert’s order, the Sisters of Compassion in Island Bay, Wellington, is now considering what to do next.
Two copies of a statement about this development are attached, one in English, the other in Māori, along with an image of Suzanne Aubert. The statements are online here:

We pray for the Ukraine...
Holy and Gracious God
We pray for the people of the Ukraine, for their country and their leader.
We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear.
We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness.
We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace.
We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ.
Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace in Ukraine.
And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son.
Lord have mercy.
Amen
