Click on the button above if Thursday Morning Late Starts cause a hardship for your family and you are not signed up for SAE. Please make sure to sign up by Wednesday mornings. It is very difficult to arrange staff if you sign up last minute.

Fall Parties

Fall Parties will be on Halloween, TUESDAY, October 31, 2023 from 7:45am-8:45am. Following the parties we will have a school wide costume parade that walks around Ryan Park, weather permitting. Families who wish to see the parade can bring lawn chairs and post up anywhere along the sidewalks that go around Ryan Park. If we expect inclement weather, the parade will move indoors.


Teachers will begin sending out requests for parent volunteers to help with the Fall Parties. If you have a job as a volunteer, you are obviously welcome to be in the classroom before or during the parties. We are asking to limit adults in the classrooms to volunteers only as to avoid over crowding in the classrooms.


The costume guidelines apply to both children and adults. Parents are welcome to wear costumes if they wish, but please do not wear masks. For safety reasons we need to know which parents are in the building.

Jeffco Writing Contests

The Education Nonprofit Corporation is sponsoring two contests for Jeffco students. The I Love to Read art contest and Jeffco Writing Challenge are both open until Thursday, February 16.

Scholastic Book Fair!

The Book Fair is back once again! This is a great chance to get some of the newest reads for your child to keep them engaged and reading while at home.

Ryan Book Fair

When: Oct 24th - 27th (open before and after school)
Times: 7:00am - 3:00pm (also open during Monster Mash!!!!)

Where: Library

How: Go to our Scholastic book fair site and look through the amazing selection with your child. You can set up an e-wallet so students are able to purchase a few books during the day without a parent needing to be there.

Fundraiser funds: If your child earned the $10 reward during the Hawk Hustle, let the volunteer know so we can apply that to the purchase.

Wish Lists: All students will be bringing home a wish list of books they are interested in purchasing on Monday, October 23rd! These are perfect lists to tell you what books your child is excited about reading.

Are there volunteer opportunities at Ryan?

Yes!! We love our volunteers. Now that we are into October and kids and staff are getting more comfortable with routines and procedures, we are welcoming volunteers into the building. Contact your child's teacher if you have availability. Depending on the class, teachers can have volunteers come into the building to read to a student or small group of students, have students read to you, grade papers, file Friday Folders, put up bulletin boards, cut out laminating or help in the library.

2nd Session of After-school Enrichment Classes Available

Many enrichments start NEXT WEEK (10/24). Please sign up right away if your student wants to participate in these after school enrichments.

Do you know your child(ren) will be absent in the future?

Please complete the Pre-Arranged Absence Form. This is the most efficient and preferred way to let the office and your child's teacher know that there is an upcoming, planned, multiple day absence. Your child's teacher will send you to this form if you email them to let them know of an upcoming absence.


This must be completed 3 days prior to the absence. For a list of excused absence reasons, please see the Jefferson County Schools Student and Family handbook.


If your child will be absent for illness, a medical appointment or other reason that doesn't require more than one day out, please bring in documentation and just call the attendance line the day of the absence.

Grades K-5 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays

Breakfast served from 7:20-7:40 am

Soft Start 7:35-7:45 am - this is when students can enter the building

School Starts at 7:45am - instruction begins promptly at 7:45am

Kinder Dismissed at 2:30 - this allows families who have children in multiple grades to grab the littles and meet the other child outside their classrooms for dismissal.

1st -5th grade - School is Dismissed 2:35


Grades K-5 Thursdays Late Start (request child supervision if not in SAE)

All times shift one hour later every Thursday morning, except for SAE.

Before and After care is always 6:30am-6:00pm
