Life & Purpose

Hippocrates was born in Kos, Greece in 460 BCE and lived until 370 BCE. His purpose was to "make a habit of two things: to help; or at least to do no harm."

Contributions to Society

  • In the Greek society, Hippocrates left behind the legendary Hippocratic Oath. This oath is still being used more than two millennia later. All doctors take this oath in order to begin their practice.
  • He is also known for describing diseases scientifically and finding their cures. He believed that diseases we're cured by science not religion.
