Kirk Fenton News
7th December 2018
Dear Parents / Carers,
It’s been a very Christmassy week this week. The Year Five and Six choir attended and sang at a carol concert at Tadcaster Grammar School on Thursday along with other choirs from the Trust schools. We have ended this week feeling very festive following a wonderful ‘Wriggly Nativity’ from our Early Years children. I was amazed by how much they learned and for such young children they were very confident and could be heard saying their lines beautifully. The singing was lovely and the sheer enthusiasm with which they performed was wonderful to see. I’m sure the EYFS staff will sleep well tonight!
We ended the week with the Friends Christmas Fair. This was well attended and fun and chocolate were had by all. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the volunteers for all their hard work over the last few months to bring it all together. There is so much in school that just wouldn’t be possible without the funds that events like this raise so thank you to everyone who came and supported our school.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams

Christmas at St Mary's
Dear Everyone,
We are sending you this letter from St. Mary’s to invite you to all of our Christmas celebrations and to invite all of the children in school to be part of a choir that will perform at our Contemporary Carol Service on Sunday 23rd December at 7.00pm. See over the page for details of all of our Christmas services.
Choir
This year, we would like to set up a choir, made up of children from school. At most of our Christmas services, we will be singing Angels Singing Glory in the Highest, a brilliant modern carol. As many of our congregation won’t know the carol, any children who attend any services can help to lead the singing. At the Contemporary Carol Service on Sunday 23rd December at 7.00pm, the choir will perform the carol.
The choir is open to any child who would like to perform and who is available to come to the Contemporary Carol Service. It will be necessary for an adult to attend the Carol Service and be responsible for their child as we will not be able to supervise them. All rehearsals will take place during the school day.
If your child would like to be in the choir, please either sign up on the sheet at the school office or e-mail revsimonbiddlestone@hotmail.com (making sure you say your child’s name and the class they’re in).
Everyone at St. Mary’s is looking forward to seeing you over the Christmas period and we are excited to hear the choir singing.
God bless,
Rev Simon Biddlestone
