Welcome to the world of Instructional Coaching. As an Instructional Coach, you have just entered an entirely new world. Building relationships with new teachers, learning the work, staying one step ahead, and working closely with building level leaders can be an overwhelming experience. During our first meeting together, we will begin laying the foundation necessary to not just "survive" your first year, but to finish strong. Our agenda for this day will include:

5. Understanding the Importance of your School Improvement Plan-Part 1

What is the necessary information you need to know "today" in order to effectively lead the work in your school?
Never has there been a time when the educational climate has changed so dramatically. Teachers are looking for guidance and stability, and many times they will look to their Instructional Coach for support and answers. You need to be ready! Today, our agenda will begin the process of building capacity in you to answer some of those important questions.
The agenda for today will include:

Day 3: January 16, 2014
Reality has set in and you are probably wondering, "What have I gotten myself into?"
Mid-year is stressful for everyone, especially for those of you who are trying to lead teachers in a direction that many may not want to go. Change is hard and expectations are high. How do you go from just "surviving" this time of the year to keeping the teachers focused on the "main thing" and not run off the rails? Today, we come to the rescue. Our agenda for today will include:
1. Understanding building, district, and school level data
2. Where are we now and where do we go? Strategic planning for second semester
3. Coaching in a climate of change.

Day 4: March 12, 2014
Today will be our last day together for the year. What do we do now? What should the work look like in order to finish strong and not seek new employment? Having a good plan helps to eliminate all of those questions that may be plaguing you right now. We will look at how to generate a plan for Next Steps that is realistic, timely, and goal oriented. Our agenda will include:
1. Protocols for evaluating student work
2. CCRPI
3. Idealism or Reality? Collaboration and Next Steps
