Hooked on my Book
The intent of the new Hooked on my Book program we started here is to put books in the hands of each and every student at the school, promote essential literacy skills, and foster a love for reading. Mrs. Pendleton & Ms. Bruno wrote and were awarded grants through Donors Choose to purchase brand new books. Books were also purchased
through Title I Grant funds, as well as donations from the Parents Club. Students had the opportunity to choose any book they wanted from the new selection that was purchased, with the hope that choosing books of interest will truly encourage them to read more frequently. We hope to continue the Hooked on my Book Program throughout the years here at PHS.
Important Notes & Reminders
- We are so thankful to all the Grandparents who joined us for our annual Grandparents Breakfast at the end of March. It turned out to be a wonderful event because we were able to celebrate you and the relationships you have with your grandchildren.
- Just a reminder, if your child has any outstanding fees, such as a $3 lock fee, milk fees, etc. these fees must be paid before the end of the year. We will be sending reminders with outstanding fee balances home within the next couple weeks so those fees can be paid. Money can be sent into the office with your child at any time to pay the fee balance.
- Congratulations to the 49 third quarter honor roll students for their academic achievements. It was great spending time with students and their family members at the honor roll luncheon on April 11. Keep up the great work!
- Registration will be ONLINE this year. Please be watching for more information on how we will be conducting the online registration process. Families will still need to stop in the office to show proof of residency, but forms will be completed online via Teacherease.
Congratulations to Coach Weaver, Coach Angi, and the PHS Track Team on a Successful Season
