Regular Weekly Schedule

This Week at Placerita 8.16.20

Good Evening Placerita Families...

We made it through the first week last week and we look forward to our first full week starting tomorrow. Last week's Prospector was really jammed with information so we are just adding a small amount of new information this week so you will not have so much to look through.

However, we are including some of last week's information so you can review if needed.

This is the first full week on the Regular Weekly Schedule as shown above. The schedule is available in PDF format that you can print and post if you wish.

If you are having technology difficulties please call the school (661-259-1551) and let us know so we can help you get them fixed. If you still need a Chromebook please call as well so we can get you set up.

In case you missed this last week's edition, below is a summary of the most important facts about how Distance learning works.

1) Each student's Hart District Google Account is what drives their communication with school. This account is in the form of an email address that allows students to access their classes through Google Classroom.

2) Each student and parent has an Infinite Campus Account where Schedules, grades and attendance can be viewed. See the video below about how to log into Infinite Campus.

3) Each student will access 6 Google Classrooms (One for each period) to access assignments as well as Google Meet or Zoom locations for class. Some type of live instruction will be taking place every day in every period.

See the School Lunch information through the button below from the District. There is a lot of great information there.

This week is looks like it will be a hot one with highs in the triple digits everyday. If your power were to go out please be patient. We are aware that could happen and we will verify with Edison where we have outages. If your community is affected we will warrant your absence.

Take care and be safe. We look forward to seeing you online.

Miner Morning TV First Edition

You can watch the first edition of MMTV from last week.

Kid Flix Productions

Kid Flix is Placerita's award winning video production club. Even in the online learning times, we are finding ways to keep Kid Flix going. Kid Flix is responsible for our Remote Miner Morning TV broadcast, our Miner Details Podcast and will enter into a variety of contests. Students will learn how to put a feature story together, edit their productions and produce a newscast.

Our meetings will be held on Monday afternoons on Zoom from 3 pm to 4 pm. Students interested in joining Kid Flix should join our Google Classroom group using the code i6uaemo. Zoom information will be posted there.

Parents, if you want to follow our broadcasts, follow us on YouTube at Placerita TV:

Please consider donating to the Placerita Foundation

There was an envelope included in your registration packet that had information about the Placerita Foundation. The Placerita Parent Organization does all of it's fundraising through the Foundation and all the monies go directly back into the classrooms. There was information in your packet about all the things the Foundation does for our school. This year there will be added costs for many different things that we could use your help with. This is our major fundraiser for the year through donations at the beginning of the year. Thanks for all your help!
