Phishing can happen to anyone and anywhere. They are hard to spot, but there are key things to find out if an e-mail is real or fake.
Phishing
Phishing is when someone tries to get your personal information. Examples are your credit card, social security, and a banking statement. They can also ask you to send you money so you can "get" money.
Getting Phished
You can get phished from any e-mail. It may look real such as from e-bay, Amazon, and Bank of America. There was a study on phishing, if you could figure out if a e-mail is real or fake and the highest score was three out of ten! This shows any e-mail could be phishing you.
How to avoid Phishing
There are many ways to find out if a e-mail is real or fake. Some ways to find out is a e-mail is fake is; spelling errors, if it says dear client, has a 'click here' button, and if the e-mail it is sent from is not the same as the business. If there is a 'click here' button then hover over it because it will show you the site it is taking you to if it is not the same it will reroute you and could give your computer or device a virus. Don't get phished!
