Preschool News

This week we talked about transportation. We learned the meaning of transportation, and completed many activities centered around land transportation. At the beginning of the week, we thought about different modes of land transportation. Some of our ideas were: cars, dirt bikes, motorcycles, police cars, fire trucks, trucks, bicycles, buses, and trains. We then painted cars that we hung up on the wall for our new bulletin board in the classroom, made paintings from the wheels of cars, created a car wash to wash the cars we painted with, and created shape buses. We also read the book, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems. After the story, we completed a graph showing how many students would let the pigeon drive and how many would not. We had 11 students say they would let the pigeon drive the bus!!! We then created a book called, "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the..." where the students were the illustrators and the authors!!

This week was letter Ee and number 17. We created an elephant on an uppercase E, turned letter bear into Elmo bear, sorted uppercase and lowercase Ee's, and learned how to write the letter. Next week, we start letter Dd.

Looking ahead, next week, is the Week of the Young Child, and we have different activities planned to celebrate the awesome young children we work with and know!! :)
