NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 7 | 16 MARCH 2022
Last week Pre Primary were excited to participate in a Lego incursion. Bricks for Kids came to our school to teach us how to build a crocodile model using Lego. The students used a wide variety of mathematical skills as they worked in pairs, followed instructions and counted to make their crocodile model with lego pieces. It was an amazing experience!
Creator God, be near to me.
When I’m uncertain, offer me comfort.
When I’m afraid, give me courage.
I give you thanks for all of the good things in my life.
I ask for help with the things that aren’t so good.
I pray for my community in the midst of this pandemic,
that everyone would stay safe and healthy.
Be with our leaders, and help them to make good decisions.
Thank you for your love. Amen.
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
We have a strong and resilient school community and I would like to thank everyone for their support and the gratitude shown for the way our staff have managed the growing number of Covid cases over the past fortnight. Staff have assisted families with pastoral care phone calls and have worked hard to compile the learning packs and online lessons your children are engaging with in the home environment. Many staff have been involved in the tracking and tracing of student close contacts to ensure that to we do our very best to limit the spread of the virus in our community. The health, wellbeing and learning outcomes of our students are always prioritised and we truly appreciate your partnership, especially in these challenging times.
Our switch to remote or home learning for one week has provided a circut breaker for the virus and we are seeing that the spread of Covid slowing down in our school. These addtional two days of remote learning will prevent many more students and staff from becoming infected with the disease.
When students return on Monday, we ask families to be vigilant for any symptoms of Covid and to get their children tested if they are feeling unwell with a fever, headache, sore throat, are vomiting or have diarrhea.
Despite the disruption Covid has caused, it is heartening to see our children engage with the learning provided for them through their learning packs and online tasks and lessons. Our students have adapted quickly and positively to this new mode of learning and it speaks to their growth mindset, which is a disposition that will serve them well into their future.
We pray together as a community for all who are sick and we ask God to bless and heal each child and family member who feels unwell or who is struggling at this time. We ask these things through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
God bless you all.
