Cause of Albinism
The cause of Albinism is a mutation of the X-Chromosome.Scientist from Brown University have studied albinism and found that when a melanosome has OCA2 or does not have OCA2, with mutation linked to albinism, the chloride flow does not happen, and it can not produce melanin. This could lead to new different cures and treatments for Albinism.
Symptoms
Symptoms are simple. They consist of the absence of color in the; Skin, Iris of the eye, and hair.
Treatments and Lon-Term Effects
There are no treatments for Albinism. At Brown University, studies show that when melanosome has OCA2 or does not have OCA2, with mutation linked to albinism, the chloride flow does not happen, and it can not produce melanin. This could lead to new different cures and treatments for Albinism. Albinism is genetics and there is no way it can be prevented before birth. If a kids parents are normal, a kid can still have albinism if it is in the parents genes.
