Letter from the Board
If you haven’t spent much time outdoor enjoying winter fun yet, your chance is coming soon! Get the boots, get your hat & gloves and don’t forget the long underwear because CELEBRATON OF THE LAKES IS COMING! Mark your calendars from Thursday, Feb. 10th through Sunday, Feb 13th to get out and participate in a long list of weekend activities! This awesome community event kicks off with the Celebration Of The Diva’s Thursday night, so ladies get out to the down town shops to score some great deals. Friday night is the 2nd annual candle lit trail hike at Alemansrätt Park. Enjoy up to 3+ miles of awesome trails, guided by luminaries, with a bon fire and free hot cocoa. It’s definitely a sight to see and enjoy. If the outdoors isn’t your thing, then head to the Uncommon Loon to watch or participate in the Corn Hole Tournament and enjoy the latest brews. Saturday is filled with events; Ice Racing (cars), Radar Run (snowmobiles and side by sides), Kids Pro Racing, food stands, Jack Daniels tasting and the Rotary Ice Carousel. At 4 pm, the winner of the 2022 Indy Polaris snowmobile raffle will be drawn. (Stop by the chamber to buy your tickets). But that’s not the end of the day because at 7 pm, fireworks will launch on Chisago Lake right out from Paradise Park in Chisago City, followed by TWO live band dances to suit your music flare...one at Frankie’s new boat showroom in Chisago City (7:30-10:30 pm) and one at the Lindstrom Community Hall for the ever-famous Polka Dance (6-9 pm). There’s no reason to not get out and stomp your feet!
Sunday brings another day of fun for all, with the return of the Dodgeball tournament, which is seriously the most hilarious event watch or participate in. Also returning Sunday is the Lions Ice Fishing contest, more Ice Racing and Kids Pro Racing. Grab your fishing rods and try to catch a fish as this tournament has lots of prizes to give away, including a $500 Frankie’s gift certificate for the biggest pan fish and $300 certificate for the biggest game fish. For kids under 10 years of age, there a girls AND boys bike for the biggest fish caught. Don’t worry about packing a lunch because the Lions Club will be on the ice with their food stand. It’s loads of fun!! Look for the chamber trailer on the ice to buy a raffle ticket for the raffles. Hope to see you out there!
Just two weeks after Celebration of the Lakes is the 2022 Home & Business Expo! Nothing says ‘spring is coming’ like our local home show, schedule for February 26th and 27th at the Wildcat Community Center in Lindstrom. Start you home projects list and come out to shop and talk to local businesses that can make your wish list a reality. There’s plenty of food, entertainment and fun for all.
