Get ready for the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge (KHC)
Save the Date! We are kicking off the Kids Heart Challenge on February 6th!
This year, our school is getting ready for a worldwide adventure with the Heart Heroes who will teach us about staying strong in mind and body while we raise funds to help people with broken hearts.
We’ll also have the opportunity to learn Hands-Only CPR – that puts a forever life saving skill into our own hands!
We have some exciting things planned this year to get us moving, helping others and having fun. Get a head start by signing up today and helping your student choose a daily health challenge. Visit our school page at http://www2.heart.org/goto/SunsetHillElementaryLawrenceKS or download the Kids Heart Challenge app!

Utility disconnection is a reality for many of our friends and neighbors.
$20,637,905 worth of rent and utility assistance was distributed to Douglas County from March 2021 to November 2022. Programs like the Low Income Energy Assistance Program have helped families in Kansas survive the winter for years.
If you, your family, or a loved one are struggling and concerned about a utility disconnection, come meet with a Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) Resource Agent. Help spread the word and help keep your neighbors warm this winter.
Pants Donations needed!
Thanks!!!
