at LWPL
Readers of all ages will explore all things underground this summer as Whitney Public Library presents “Dig Into Reading” during their summer library program. Activities this summer include puppets, singing, magic, clowns, local heroes and history, and so much more!
Events
All Programs Begin at 10:30
June 13th – Puppets – Margaret Clauder
Margaret is a skillful storyteller, puppeteer, and ventriloquist.
June 20th – Cool School – Maria Smith
Dance and sing along with Ms. Maria as she performs songs that both educate and entertain.
June 27th – Mobile Dairy Classroom – Kayler Campbell /Poison Detectives – Karen Watson
Kayler's program features a live dairy cow and milking demonstration. Jennifer Watson from Poison Control will recruit Poison Detectives to learn when to “give a shout” around dangerous materials.
July 11th – DAR Founding Mothers – Madeleine Lively / Geocaching - Girl Scouts
Members of the Fort Graham Chapter will be donning Revolutionary War era costumes and present educational tales from the Founding Mothers. The library is especially excited as this program is normally reserved for school presentations only. The local girl scout troop will present a skit on geocaching, including how to get started and handy tips for treking through the wilderness to find the caches.
July 18th – “Zippy is Silly” – Gerald Whitmore / Healthy Foods – Aisnry Vasquez
Zippy the Clown will perform magic, hilariously entertain, and make balloon creations for each child. Aisnry teaches kids how to eat smart and to have fun with their food.
July 25th – Hometown Heroes – Whitney EMS, Fire, and Police Depts., Corp of Engineers
Join in celebrating our local heroes and learning about what they do every day to keep us safe! See an ambulance, fire truck and water cannon, and Evac helicopter. Also join us for a water safety instruction and a presentation by the police department.
Fun For Everyone!
